What time is the debate between Harris and Trump? Here we tell you how to watch it tonight

Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are set to square off in their first debate at 9 p.m. ET. The meeting at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, hosted by ABC News, is scheduled to last 90 minutes. It will be streamed live on the WSJ website and app.

Moderated by anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis, the debate will be live on ABC and streamed on ABC News Live, Disney+ and Hulu. It will also be simulcast on numerous other places, including ABC News Radio, CNN, CBS, C-SPAN, Fox News, NBC and NewsNation.

Tonight’s matchup technically the second general-election debate of the year, following the June 27 meeting between Trump and President Biden that started the series of events that ultimately resulted in Harris becoming the Democratic nominee. A debate for the vice presidential nominees is set for Oct. 1, but there is no agreement so far on more debates between Trump and Harris.

What else to know:

Whether the microphones will be on or off when the other candidate is speaking has been a point of contention leading up to tonight’s contest. But there are numerous other rules of engagement, including a ban on prepared notes.

Both candidates will need to manage their respective strengths and weaknesses on the debate stage, as they aim to sway a closely divided electorate.
