New York delivers new stimulus check in August for $6,000 dollars, for families with economic needs
New York, as well as California, have launched a new check of up to $6,000 starting in August for low-income people.
Stimulus checks are part of state programs, with which governments help the most vulnerable population with money to get ahead and face the payment of food and bills.
They are usually temporary programs that benefit certain people, and to be eligible they must meet certain requirements and present monthly family income.
New York will deliver $500 per month for one year to residents below 185% of the poverty level in the city of Rochester. The final amount of the check is $6,000 dollars.
California has a system similar to New York’s, and will deliver, through the Long Beach Pledge program, $500 bonuses per month for 12 months.
New York and California are not the only ones to put stimulus bonuses into effect starting this month, as other states also have programs to help the less favored population, such as:
Alaska: Continues to deliver the state Permanent Fund check with the 2023 dividends. The amount is $1,312 dollars.
Arizona: Through the Tax Refund program, stimulus checks will be given to more than 700,000 families in the state. Those under 17 years of age will receive $250, while those over $100 dollars.
Georgia: The state offers payments of $850 dollars per month for two years, which is equivalent to a final figure of $20,400 dollars.
Washington: With the Growing Resilience program, in Tacoma $500 dollars per month are delivered to selected low-income households and this will be done until June 2025.
