Fans of the HBO series, The Last of Us (written and produced by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann), are counting the days until the premiere of its second season, scheduled for sometime in 2025. In the recent first trailer, which HBO has revealed some of the most iconic scenes from the video game The Last of Us Part 2. The teaser evokes the nostalgia of the original game, with details meticulously reproduced for fans of the saga.
Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal reprise their roles as Ellie and Joel, respectively. Although not featured in the trailer, the announcement did bring with it confirmation that Kaitlyn Dever will play Abby, another central character in the game. Isabela Merced will play Dina and Catherine O’Hara, known as Kevin’s mother in Home Alone, will also have a prominent role. In the game developed by Naughty Dog, Ellie is driven by grief and revenge on a journey through a United States on the brink of collapse, facing infections and other dangers. Thus, the new part of the game is significant both in terms of plot and character development.
The original story takes place twenty years after the destruction of modern civilization. Joel, a hardened survivalist, is hired to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie out of an oppressive quarantine zone.
