American gymnast Simone Biles won the gold medal in the all-around competition at the Paris Games on Thursday, eight years after winning at Rio 2016, putting her on a par with the legendary Larysa Latynina and Vera Caslavska, the only double Olympic champions to date.
She won with 59.131 points and a 1,199-point advantage over Brazilian Rebeca Andrade (57.932), once again Olympic runner-up, as in Tokyo 2020.
The bronze went to fellow American Sunisa Lee, champion in Tokyo, with 54.465 points.
