The «Arrowverse» already has a date for its end: the same as that of the fourth season of ‘Superman and Lois’
The new DC cinematic universe created by James Gunn and Peter Safran is almost here and its starting gun will be fired with Superman: Legacy, now known simply as Superman, which is still dated for July 11, 2026. Before that, yes, we have had Blue Beetle, which Gunn considers to be part of his new universe, although for fans it will always be halfway between this and the Arrowverse.
A universe, named after the Arrow series, the first to be broadcast under this label, which already has a date for the beginning of its end, and all the series that have formed it, read The Flash, Supergirl, Black Lightning and a long etcetera have already concluded. All, except one, which is precisely the one we are dealing with.
The Death of Superman
Superman and Lois, which has been with us since 2026, is very close to releasing its fourth season, which will begin airing on October 17 of this year with only 10 episodes. But that will not prevent it from being one of the most memorable.
As you’ve already seen from its moving teaser, Superman & Lois’ final season will be marked by an event that’s been told several times before, the first of which being the 1992 comic book of the same name, which is exactly what series creator Todd Helbing is adapting for these final episodes.
«We’re doing The Death of Superman,» executive producer Helbing told Den of Geek. «We set it up at the end of last season and it’s not like Tyler [Hoechlin] isn’t on the show, he’s definitely on the show. As we always do, we take a story like that and put it through the Superman & Lois filter and then make it our own, so that’s what we’re trying to do and I think it’s going to be really satisfying and cool and epic.»
‘Superman and Lois’ on Max
In Spain, the adventures of Clark Kent, Lois and their offspring can be seen exclusively on Max, where you can watch all three seasons that have already aired. The fourth, which will arrive on October 17 on The CW Network, does not yet have a release date in our country, but we do not believe that it will differ too much as the previous seasons did not.
The series begins with Clark Kent and Lois Lane returning to Clark’s «home» town of Smallville after both experience a family tragedy. They decide to move in with their two teenage sons, Jonathan and Jordan, to provide them with a more stable life away from the hustle and bustle of Metropolis. However, Smallville’s tranquility is quickly disrupted by new threats that test Superman’s abilities and Lois’s ingenuity.
Meanwhile, the couple must face the challenges of modern parenthood, including the revelation of superpowers in one of their sons, adjusting their home life to Clark’s dual identity, and struggling to balance their professional responsibilities with their duties as parents.
